The upcoming Samsung One UI 7 is just around the corner, bringing a host of features and changes to your Galaxy devices. Built on Android 15, this update promises to enhance the user experience with a mix of innovation and simplicity. Here’s everything we know so far, including leaks, features, and the anticipated release timeline. This information is also featured on 9to9trends YouTube, so don’t forget to check it out.
Samsung One UI 7 Leaks:
According to a brief appearance of the Samsung One UI 7 page on their Spanish website, we’re looking at a “sophisticated new look” for the interface. This includes updated, more intuitive icons and a smart notification control center. For those of you who love staying updated at a glance, the lock screen has been reimagined to display ongoing activities, similar to iOS’s live activities feature.
In addition to design changes, Samsung One UI 7 might bring a revamped camera interface, satellite connectivity, and smarter AI for enhanced customization and app suggestions. The introduction of the NowBar—a new navigation feature—adds to the list of enhancements to make device usage more seamless. One standout feature is the Sketch to Image tool, originally debuted in One UI 6.1.1. Now improved in One UI 7, it offers creative options like 3D Cartoon, Sketch, and Watercolor effects. Similarly, the Portrait Studio feature takes portrait editing to another level by using cloud-based AI to transform profile pictures into artistic masterpieces. Additionally, the Live Effects feature, inspired by Google Photos’ Cinematic Photos, lets users add depth to images.
On the photography front, the AI Zoom feature, previously introduced with the Galaxy S24 FE, is likely to roll out to more devices like the Galaxy S24 series and Z Fold/Flip 6 models. This feature uses machine learning to enhance the quality of digitally zoomed images. In addition, Samsung is also focusing on family safety by adding child protection features to the Galaxy Store. These updates will require guardian approval for purchases made on children’s accounts.
If you’re eager to test out Samsung One UI 7, the beta version might be your ticket. Samsung announced that the beta will be available to developers and the public by December 2024. However, they missed an earlier rumored beta launch at the SDC Korea 2024 event, which many speculated would happen around November 21.

The wait for Samsung One UI 7 might feel longer than usual, but there’s a reason behind it. Samsung’s focus on delivering a stable and polished update is key. In the past, users faced bugs and performance issues shortly after major updates. This time, the company is taking extra precautions, likely inspired by user feedback and internal testing.
Sources within Samsung’s community suggest the company wants this update to be rock-solid. By rigorously testing the alpha build internally, Samsung aims to address common issues from previous updates, like battery drain, overheating, and animation lags, before opening it up to beta testers.

While UI 7 is giving so many new features, there is also bad news for users and it is about the Edge Panels. Samsung has decided to end the ability to download Edge Panels from the Galaxy Store after upgrading to One UI 7. However, any previously downloaded Edge Panels will remain accessible in the “My Apps” section. If you’ve been using Edge Panels to enhance multitasking, it’s a good idea to back up your favorites before updating. Once removed after the update, they cannot be re-downloaded.
